When I moved to Washington, I fell in love with both the beautiful environment and the people. When Jen moved from Lodi to Washington, she fell in love with one person in particular. Having lived in Washington for less than a year, Jen didn’t know many people, so a friend of a friend invited her to Scott’s 21st birthday party. By crashing his party, she changed both of their lives. “We noticed each other right away and as soon as we made eye contact, he smiled, and I thought he was pretty cute.”
After that night, Jen and Scott began texting and went on a few dates. He was leaving for college and didn’t like the idea of leaving a girlfriend behind. A year and a half went by during which they remained friends and Scott’s family adopted Jen as one of their own. “Throughout that time I fell in love with Scott and I eventually told him one day while he was working at Kenmore air. He confessed he was in love with me as well and now we’ve been officially together since May 16, 2011!”
Scott studied aviation at Central Washington University, and, as a pilot, has flown Jen to many of the beautiful places Washington offers. One of their favorite places to visit is Roche Harbor on the San Juan Islands. The harbor is home to a 1900s church with a bench out front, a bench Scott and Jen refer to as “our bench.” This bench is where Scott proposed on February 16th of this year and where Jen said yes to the man of her dreams.
